The 1837 UK half farthing obverse features
the bare head of King William IV facing right,
with the date below. The legend reads:
'GULIELMUS IIII' to the left, and
'DEI GRATIA.' to the right.
The reverse shows the helmed Britannia seated
facing right, holding a trident, hand resting on a
shield. In the exergue is a rose, thistle, and
shamrock. The surrounding legend reads:
'BRITANNIAR: REX FID: DEF:'
