The 1825 'laureate head' UK shilling reverse shows
the UK coat of arms with the royal crown above,
surrounded by a garter with 'HONI SOIT QUI MAL
Y PENSE', then 'ANNO' and the date below.
The shield quadrants show three lions representing
England, one lion representing Scotland, and a harp
representing Ireland. In the center is a crowned shield
with the Hanoverian arms.
